For some considerable time now BMW specialists have been well aware that series engines profit greatly when the exhaust back pressure between the right and left pipes of the doubleflow exhaust system is balanced. The RACING DYNAMICS Torque-X-Pipe was developed specially for the RACING DYNAMICS high performance engine 'RS52' and represents the consequent realisation of this idea. Located in the exhaust system at a precisely defined distance to the engine outlet valves the X-pipe by means of a cylinder group creates a vacuum in the adjacent pipe. This effect results in a very noticeable torque increase in the rotational speed range between 3,500 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
